DEFINITIONS

Classroom materials are a powerful way to celebrate children in the room and their families and backgrounds. Teachers thoughtfully integrate music recordings, books, pretend food, dolls, and toys that represent each child's background. Labeling and discussing these materials helps children learn about and appreciate their classmates and their community within the classroom.
