In this exemplar video, a teacher models for children how to express complete ideas or sentences. Notice when the child was trying to open the spaghetti sauce jar and said “I turn,” the teacher modeled how he could express his language in a complete sentence by saying “Do you want to try and turn it with me?” Modeling children’s language in a complete sentence is important for toddler aged children because it gives them an example of how they can express their thoughts and needs clearly.
