In this Exemplar Video, the teacher acknowledges feelings and comforts the child by listening to the child’s signals when distressed by patting the back, getting on their level, praising, and encouraging easing transitions from home to the classroom. Notice how the teacher acknowledges the child’s needs and provides emotional support for the transition into the classroom from home by managing behavior.
